The torque converter limit valve spring on the Chrysler 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, 66RFE, and 68RFE pumps commonly malfunctions and is not serviced independently of the OEM. This valve restricts the converter’s release pressure. A broken spring might cause the valve to become stuck, causing converter clutch release issues. The revised design and high-quality material of the Sonnax torque converter limit spring 44912-02 allow for high working loads. Sonnax changes to the spring design guarantee that the crucial working load is within the acceptable design heights to preserve limiting pressure consistency, and that the spring accurately limits converter release pressure to 115-125 psig.
