4L60E / 4L65E / 4L70E TransGo Drop-in Pressure Regulator Valve, 1993-2015, 4L60E-PR.
1993 to 2015 General Motors vehicles equipped with the 4L60E, 4L65E, and 4L70E automatic transmissions over time wear out the line pressure regulator (PR) valve bore. As a result, in cases where the wear is most prevalent at the balance end of the valve, the pressure will be unstable. Moreover, if the wear is severe enough, it can result in unregulated high line pressure. On the other hand, in those cases where the wear is most prevalent at the spring end of the valve, the leak in that area would cause low line pressure. For the same reason, the symptoms will vary as well, ranging from harsh shifts, soft shifts, burnt frictions, overheating, to converter clutch failure.
Note that transmission removal is required only if unit has ISS “Input Speed Sensor” which started 2006-2007 and up.
