The SmartShell avoids the excess weight of traditional heavy-duty shells thanks to a unique design and manufacturing process. It’s only slightly bulkier than OE but far stronger. To prevent thrust loads from damaging the captured planetary bearing, the SmartShell features a larger bearing and custom roller clutch race that reroutes thrust loads through the carrier—bypassing the delicate bearing entirely.
