Dodge trucks pulling heavy loads or boosted to 400–600HP are at high risk for overdrive burnup due to the stock transmission’s insufficient clutch capacity and fragile OE clutches.

Even small amounts of heat and extra torque can distort the thin (.034") single-sided clutches, pushing the clutch pack out of spec and leading to inevitable failure.

The Sonnax Smart-Tech® kit features a billet aluminum housing that holds a taller clutch pack and increases OD apply area by 16%. Thicker clutches boost steel mass by 28% for superior heat dissipation.

This upgrade eliminates clutch problems without requiring valve body or pump modifications.

72570-01 – Heavy Duty Overdrive Clutch Hub

Failure of the OE clutch hub and shaft is common in Chrysler 66RFE and 68RFE transmissions. Cracks at lubrication cross holes can lead to catastrophic gear train failure.

The Sonnax 72570-01 upgrade is cryogenically treated and shot-peened to reduce crack formation and increase load capacity. It’s a direct replacement for all 66RFE and 68RFE units.
