ATS Transmission Cooler Thermostatic Bypass Upgrade For 6.7L Cummins 68RFE

This is a must for any truck that has a 68-RFE or Aisin AS69RC transmission. Dodge incorporated a transmission cooler bypass valve into the cooling system of the 68-RFE and Aisin AS69RC that bypasses the transmission cooler during cold operation.

The intent is to force the transmission to warm up faster. In reality, this bypass valve leaks and sticks in the bypass position in almost every case, causing the transmission cooler flow to bypass the trans cooler—essentially eliminating it from the circuit. This causes severe damage to the transmission over time.

The ATS cooler block replaces the faulty design, eliminating the bypass valve and ensuring 100% of the trans cooler flow is forced through the cooler. This substantially reduces transmission temperatures.

Includes:

• ATS Thermal Bypass
• Filter Coupler for in-pan Spin-on, Billet Aluminum (replaces factory plastic coupler to allow installer to properly tighten the filter). Must use 1/2" Hex Head to install.
• 2 Quick Release Cooler Line Fittings (depending on year, yours may or may not need these fittings)

This billet Cooler Thermostatic Bypass Upgrade completely eliminates the thermal bypass valve and provides five major advantages:

1. 87% increase in cooler flow due to the elimination of the orifice bottleneck located in the factory part.
2. No thermal controlled bypass valve that can fail and cause lack of cooler flow and complete transmission destruction.
3. Immediate cooling begins even when the transmission is cold—no waiting for it to heat up before cooling starts.
4. Flush your cooler lines anytime using room temperature fluid—no need for a hot flush machine or special tools.
5. Integral aluminum cooling fins aid in passive cooling of the block and fluid.

The ATS 68RFE Transmission Cooler Thermostatic Bypass Upgrade is a direct bolt-in replacement. No lines are cut, nothing is altered. Simply disconnect your old lines and install them into our new bypass.

Note: This is located underneath the truck, on the passenger side, right near where the transmission housing and engine block meet.
