New 2-5/8" Wide Sonnax Kevlar® Band 77700-01K

Ideal for 4x4, heavy duty and commercial use in GM 4L60, 4L60-E, 4L65-E and 4L70-E units, Sonnax extra wide intermediate band 77700-01K is 15% wider (.340") than the OE band and provides 15% more holding capacity. The band also features a 60% thicker case anchor, reducing the chance of band failure under severe conditions. The Sonnax band is a drop-in replacement part, with no modifications to the drum required. Using a new drum when installing a wider band is highly recommended.

• Kevlar® lining material features the same benefits as later-model, high-energy materials. While the shifts may not be as firm as with the red lining, oftentimes overall durability is better, including in extreme applications.

The band is 2-5/8" wide to take advantage of the available surface area of the drum.

 When going this route, it's always advised to make sure the drum being used is flat.  Often seemingly good used drums are actually warn slightly where there narrower factory band was applying.  If this is the case, the wider band will only grab on the edges leading to very premature failure.  Starting with a brand new drum is a great way to know for sure!
