SONNAX 96948-01K VALVE KIT, E40D / 4R100, 0.427″ Line Pressure Power Valve
E4OD / 4R100 Power Valve. Now you can have a Power Valve to go with your Power Chip. This valve is a must for high torque motors. This will wake up any E4OD or 4R100 transmission.
Ford Super Duty or Lightning trucks don’t always have the 1-2, 2-3 shift firmness your looking for in a performance or heavy duty truck. This is easily addressed by our performance Power Valve kit.
For use with any Heavy Duty or Performance E4OD and 4R100 transmission, our valve kit increases shift firmness by using a larger .427″ diameter valve increasing pressure resulting in a firmer shift.
Our valve kit has not only been designed for increased performance but for increased longevity. This valve will not work on a 2003 up 5R110W transmission.

Some E4OD, 4R100 transmissions have soft 1-2 or 2-3 shifts, intermittent harsh shifts or poor line rise complaints. These can be caused by ECU (electronic control unit) or accumulator pressure problems. Severe wear of the line pressure modulator sleeve allows EPC (electronic pressure control) oil to leak past the valve and cause soft shifts. Severe wear can also cause the valve to stick or hang up, causing harsh shifts. Sonnax offers four size variations of the line pressure modulator sleeve and valve kit that eliminate this oil loss problem.
- Sleeve is manufactured from carbon steel to prevent excessive wear.
- Valve is made from hardened alloy steel for better wear resistance.
