Vibrations at high speeds and broken Reverse friction plates are common problems with GM Powerglide racing transmissions. These issues occur when the poorly supported planetary ring gear moves off the transmission center line, oscillating out of control. Sonnax ring gear stabilizer kit 28510-S1 welds to formed steel, 1.82 ratio planetary carriers to support the ring gear, keeping it on-center.
NOTE:The following tools are required to install this ring gear stablizer kit:
- Three 4″ C-clamps
- 1/8″ Drill bit
- 1/4″ Drill bit
- Welder, MIG or TIG
