This kit works in any 1980-1991 AOD with the cast direct drum. This is a must for high HP, heavy abuse applications, but is definitely recommended if you just want to increase the life or durability of any transmission. Stock, these transmissions had either five or six clutches in this pack and never had the right clearance for proper shift quality. With this kit you’ll be able to increase the clutch count up to seven with the five clutch drum and eight with the six clutch drum. Plus, you’ll have selective plates that let you customize the clearance to the desired amount. The kit comes with everything that you’ll need to complete the conversion
