Description
700R4 / 4L60E Extreme Duty Reaction Carrier Shaft With 2 Bearings. Built Before 3-12-2007. This reaction carrier shaft was designed for the increased torque load of the 6.0L version of the Gen III V-8, as well as Corvette’s LS6 engine.
All 4L60E/65E/70E transmissions with a build date of 3-12-07 (Julian Date 7071) have changed the input carrier to a reaction carrier shaft bearing. The input carrier and the reaction carrier shaft were modified to accommodate the updated bearing.
The input carrier was dimensionally changed, as shown in figure 1.5. The bearing changes are shown in figure 2.6, while the reaction carrier shaft dimensional changes can be seen in figure 3.7.
REASON:
It increased bearing capacity for durability reasons.
PARTS AFFECTED:
The input carrier to reaction carrier shaft bearing.
INTERCHANGEABILITY:
The current design level components must be used as an assembly to back service from all previously built transmissions.
