The accumulator plate in Chrysler 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, 66RFE and 68RFE units is weak and not held securely enough to withstand the action of the accumulator pistons. The OE plate flexes, causing the screws to loosen and break.

Sonnax accumulator cover plate kit 44892-01K is an upgrade over the OE plate and allows salvage of valve bodies with damaged plates. The plate is made of thicker steel and has three additional screw holes to hold the plate more securely. The 44892-TL thread tap forms stronger threads in the aluminum valve body.
