Low spring rates, incorrect spring heights and inappropriate replacements from previous rebuilds can lead to low base line pressure. The Sonnax replacement spring 77917-08 provides a resultant idle base line pressure of 72 psi, and 82-85 psi cracking pressure.

  • The Sonnax replacement spring is stronger than many alternatives, and allows increased pressures throughout the stroking action of the pressure regulator valve.

Low line pressure resulting from worn boost valves, a worn pump bore at the pressure regulator valve or pump pocket wear will not be corrected by this spring.

2004R / 4L60 Line Pressure Booster Kit, Sonnax 700R4-LB1. 

4L60 / 2004R Pressure Booster Kit 700R4-LB1 fits GM 4L60 (700-R4) and 200-4R transmissions. Sonnax hydraulic line pressure booster kits contain stronger pressure regulator springs and large ratio boost valves designed to work together to provide progressive pressure increases as driving conditions become more demanding.

Our pressure regulator springs are approximately 10% stronger than OE and more conservative in impact than other aftermarket kit springs. Large ratio boost valves provide higher pressure incrementally and when it is needed the most. The combination of these springs and valves in the 4L60 / 2004R Line Pressure Booster Kit gives you the best of both worlds: a modest pressure increase at the low end, with a high end pressure that is equal to or greater than that of other aftermarket kit springs.

What this kit has that a stock 700R4 transmission doesn’t have is the Alto Red Eagle band and an oversize pressure valve that is .029″ larger than the largest factory valve. The Mega Valve will give your transmission firmer shifts and more holding force on the clutches and band. Fits Chevy 1987-1993 700R4 transmissions.

The 3-4 Power Pack is a multi disk design with sixteen friction surfaces. The 3-4 clutch is the weak point on 700R4 transmissions. This kit will give you a 33% larger clutch apply area on the 3-4 clutch with high performance Red Eagle clutches and Kolene steels to boot. This kit is custom built for PATC by Alto. Thin steels will not work on the 3-4 clutch in a 700R4 with over 400 horse power. Eight clutches are the maximum number you can use in the 3-4 clutch pack with full thickness steels.

N/A 300M Output Shaft for the 4WD 700R4 Transmissions

Finally a 300M output shaft for the 700R4 transmissions. 4WD output shafts are worse about breaking than a 2WD, because the longer 2WD shaft has a torsion bar effect. This shaft uses the late type oil seal on the front end. The 4WD shaft weighs almost four pounds.

Rollerized 700R4 / 4L60E Reverse Input Drum, machined to receive a Torrington roller thrust bearing between the drum and pump. This will give you an all rollerized transmission when combined with the #44X rollerized reaction carrier shaft. Made using a new #11A drum. (Part numbers 44211C (Bearing) and 74046 (Bushing) needed for builder to rollerize the drum)
