#K17TC. " Street Raptor " Torque Converter (#1). Fits 700R4 transmissions (1987-1993). This heavy duty balanced converter has furnace brazed fins and added strength. If you have a problem with your fins coming loose this is the way to go. This converter stalls at 2200 to 2500 RPM and gives a faster launch than a stock converter. Even after a complete rebuild, internal leaks and normal case wear can effect a transmission's lube flow and operating pressure, changing the original calibrations and drastically reducing overall performance and longevity. In addition, flaws and oversights in the manufacturer's initial design do not usually show up until a particular transmission model has been on the road for a few years.
Superior Transmission Parts' Shift Correction Packages are designed and engineered to compensate for transmission wear and to address OEM design oversights. Utilizing a combination of recalibrated springs, redesigned valves and field tested fixes, Shift Correction Packages can help clean up most common shifting problems and improve overall performance by working to bring the unit back to and beyond original factory specifications.

- Bind up in manual low when hot
- Heavy duty snap ring for intermediate clutch
- Works with 6 and 7 check ball cases
- Includes new separator plate to replace worn out O.E. plate
- This Shift Correction Package offers the option of regular and heavy duty applications all in the same kit.
- This valve body kit supplies metal rings for the 2nd accumulator. This one is for the model years that used teflon rings. Teflon rings in this application did not perform well.
- The 400 kit comes supplied with a thicker heavy duty snap ring for the intermediate clutch. The stock ring blows past the lugs in the case which in turn leaves the case with broken lugs. With the specially engineered Superior snap ring, cases with 2 to 3 broken lugs can be used with no fear of failure.

- Use of this transmission in police cars many times means come backs due to unit failure. This package was largely designed and developed through field testing on police vehicles.
- Included in this kit is a special design Spiral "Plus" ring set. The "New Millenium" two piece design in the AOD-E Shift Correction Package features the Spiral Ring and the G-lock ring, teamed up to withstand testing at over 16,000 RPM on a dynamometer. Even at that high speed the new design did not fail. The New Spiral "Plus" ring set replaces the stock snap ring that often times slings off.
